BLINDMAN-1971-Italian spaghetti western production backed by Abkco with Tony Anthony as the title character wandering Mexico searching for the man who stole a group of mail order brides he was supposed to deliver to the army. The character seems to be based Zatochi. And Ringo Starr is a Mexican bandito who stabs a priest. “Well, sweet mama, I guess the sun don't shine on the same dog's ass all the time”.
One of the film's producers, Allen Klein (president of Apple Records) appears briefly as does the Beatles' former road manager Mal Evans. Sir Ringo recorded a theme song but it wasn't used and it later appeared on a B-side. The American born Tony Anthony was no stranger to Italian lensed westerns and later produced and starred in the 3-D comedy COMIN' AT YA! (1981) and the Raiders of the Lost Ark influenced TREASURE OF THE 4 CROWNS (1983)). Both were directed by BLINDMAN's director Ferdinando Baldi.
