Part 4?!

WITCHCRAFT 4: THE VIRGIN HEART-1992-This third sequel in the series seems to follow from part 3 and is very bad. A lawyer named Will (Charles Solomon; from the last one) investigates the case of a guy accused of killing his girlfriend. He spends much of his time having sex with a stripper named Belladonna (Julie Strain). The murders are the work of a killer associated with her strip club where musicians sell their souls to the devil for success. The killer is actually a warlock and claims to be Will's brother. This direct to video production and has bad acting and is boring but was followed by another sequel. The director James Merendino later made SLC PUNK.

Direct To DVD

DISK JOCKEY-2006-Extremely irritating nonsense about two motor mouthed hit-men trying to local a floppy disk that contains evidence of one of their killings. An ex-partner goes into hiding because he has the disk but hides it in his sister's stomach! It's mostly the two yakking away and one even talks to the camera....

Unfortunately director Zachary Yoshioka made some more direct to video movies after this....

More Like A Tough Watch

HARD RIDE TO HELL-2010-A group of friends are terrorized, tortured and killed by a bunch of blood drinking devil worshippers who ride motorcycles in the Texas desert. They are eventually rescued by a knife salesman named Bob (Brent Stait from the ANDROMEDA TV show)). Top billed Miguel Ferrer is their one eyed leader called Jefe'. Everyone screams a lot and it's too dark to make out what's going on sometimes (not always a bad thing). It also features Katharine Isabelle from the GINGER SNAPS series of films. Director Penelope Buitenhuis made mostly TV movies before this direct to video horror.

American Idle

IDLE HANDS-1999-A stupid teenager's hand (Devon Sawa) becomes possessed and kills people against his will. He kills his parents (Fred Williard and Connie Ray) and then his 2 best friends (but they come back to life and try and help him). A young Jennifer Alba is his next door neighbor. After many crazy battles with his own hand, he chops it off and it goes on it's own and kills people at a costume party. A woman (Vivica A. Fox) has a knife that can kill it. There's a lot of imaginative scenes and some gore but I would have liked it better if the leads in this horror comedy hadn't been pot smoking slacker idiots.

The director Rodman Flender also made LEPRECHAUN 2 and lots of TV episodes. According to IMDB he was once head of Roger Corman's Concorde Pictures.

Close But No Seagal

I don't know what happened to David Heavener but I hope he stopped making his own films! He was a terrible actor and he made his own direct to video movies (like TWISTED JUSTICE) for many years. FUGITIVE X from 1995 was the last one of his do it all (wrong) productions I 've seen or heard of. If you get bored watching this dog you can amuse yourself counting how many times Heavener's name appears in the credits.

Not only is he the star/producer/writer/director, but he also wrote the music score (he must be tone deaf...).

But Orson Welles he ain't. And being a pony tailed tough guy doesn't even make him Steven Seagal. Hell, he's not even Leo Fong!

Here he plays an ex-cop (I'm sure the police force wouldn't have it any other way...) being hunted by bad guy Richard Norton (the Australian martial artist who's been in lots of video action stuff). Ex-skater Lynn Holly Johnson plays his wife. Familiar TV actor William Windom (who had a small part in Clint Eastwood's TRUE CRIME the next year) plays his uncle. The very unusual looking Robert D'Zar (he has an unusual name to match) plays a guy with a bad haircut who gets shot.

Heavener's greasy haired character takes some kind of drug that turns him into a one man descruction crew. Kind of like Chow Yun-Fat in a John Woo movie except he's not cool. Christopher (son of Robert) Mitchum hangs around too as well as the unfortunately named Clement Von Franckenstein who's name is much cooler than his acting.....

I hope David Heavener got into a line of work he's good at like building demolishing or something.....(running a Haagen Daz maybe????)
