Twinkle Twinkle

 (themoviedatabase)

THE 9th CONFIGURATION-1980-According to a narrator, after the Vietnam war many soldiers claimed psychosis and authorities thought they were faking so the government set up special facilities to investigate them. This takes place in No. 18, the last of those facilities, where a bunch of nuts (Joe Spinell, Robert Loggia, Alejandro Rey, Moses Gunn) insult each other and Grouper (Neville Brand), the officer in charge.

An army psychiatrist (Stacy Keach), who imagines the Crucifixion at a moon landing, comes to investigate the inmates including an astronaut (Scott Wilson) who aborted a mission. Later, the shrink makes them dress as Nazis but he's not what he seems.

Also with Jason Miller, Ed Flanders, George DiCenzo and Tom Atkins. Steve Sandor and Richard Lynch are motorcycle gang members. This very deceptive, psychological thriller was written and directed by William Peter Blatty (author of “The Exorcist”) from his own novel.

Cold

COLDBLOODED-1995-A weird emotionless bookie named Cosmo (Jason Priestly) is, for some reason, promoted to hit-man by his new Mafioso boss (Robert Loggia). He becomes the protege' of the present hit-man named Steve (Peter Riegert) and proves to be better than his teacher. He kills various people (including one of the film's producers Michael J. Fox in a cameo) and falls in love with his yoga teacher (Kimberly Williams). Eventually he wants out of "the company" but doesn't find it that easy to do.

This is a strange black comedy that has some funny moments especially from Riegert who's great but Priestly to me seems to channeling Johnny Depp in his performance and the conclusion isn't very good. Director Wallace Wolodarsky wrote MONSTERS VS. ALIENS.

It's Snowing and I Have To Shovel...

....So this is the best I can do.....

MAN WITH A GUN-1994-Micheal Madsen stars as a hitman who narrates part of the story. He talks about "The Kingdom" and says: "The good die young but the bad die ugly". He works for crooked land developer Gary Busey who wants Madsen to kill his wife (Betty Boop voiced Jennifer Tilley) who is screwing up his transactions. "If you can kill a rattlesnake, you can kill my wife".

Trouble is Madsen and Tilley are already having an affair. Fortunately Tilley has a twin sister who Madsen kidnaps and plans on killing instead. Of course he winds up falling in love with her. Blah, blah, blah. Robert Loggia plays a mob boss.
