DRACULA 3000-2004-In the future when dope is legal and no one believes in God, Captain Abraham Van Helsing (Casper Van Diem) leads a salvage team (which includes Erika Eleniak, Coolio and Tiny Lister). There's also a whiny guy in a wheelchair who's like a cross between Eddie Deezen and Robbie Robertson. They investigate a 50 year old derelict space ship. Coolio turns into one of the worst vampires in vampire film history. Count Dracula is somehow on board. He's from planet Transylvania in the Carpathian solar system. 

Really! I didn't make it up! 

Udo Keir is also in it.

Snore

SLEEPING BEAUTY-2014-Some genius at The Asylum decided to recreate the famous romantic fairy tale into a zombie gore film (Things like this are all the rage now). Unfortunately the makers failed on almost every count. The script and acting are terrible. The story is very drawn out and predictable but there are several zombie fights and a dragon like creature appears. It looks like something that will probably play on the SyFy channel with some of the gorier scenes cut out (maybe it already has!).

SLEEPING BEAUTY was directed by actor Casper Van Dien (who plays the king) and stars Finn Jones (GAME OF THRONES), Olivia d'Abo as the hammy evil sorceress and the director's daughter Grace as Princess Dawn, the sleeping title character. It was filmed in Bulgaria. Michael York narrates it.

Another film with the same name but having nothing to due with the famous fairy tale was released the same year.

Space Bugs

STARSHIP TROOPERS-1997-In the future high school kids are encouraged through lots of advertising to join the military to fight insect like aliens from a far off planet. Johnny (Casper Van Dien) joins the corps mainly because his girlfriend Carmen (Denise Richards) has to. Unfortunately she takes up with another dweeb (Patrick Muldoon). Dina Meyer is Dizzy, another recruit who is sweet on Johnny. There's a lot of cardboard acting and clichéd situations but things pick up when Earth goes to war against "the bugs". 

Michael Ironside is the commanding officier and Jake Busey, Neil Patrick Harris and Clancy Brown are in it. Director Paul Verhoven made this after the alughable SHOW GIRLS. It's based on a novel by Robert Heinlein.

It seems this story is ripe for a remake!
