CYBORG 2: GLASS SHADOW-1993-In 2074, Japan and the US vie for cyborg producing supremacy. At the center of this nonsense is a female cyborg Cash (Angelina Jolie) who has been injected with something called "GS" and she's going to blow up in 5 hours. A guy Colt (Elias Koteas) helps her escape while some kind computer voice (Jack Palance) aids them. The CEO (Allen Garfield) hires dip stick psycho Bench (who else but Billy Drago) to destroy them. "I think you kissed the wrong goodbye". Palance (who also narrates) shows up at the climax to make sitting through this tolerable but I was surprised by the final scene. Also with Karen Sheppard and Tracey Walter. 

Director Michael Schroeder had made the much better OUT OF THE DARK (1988). He made a second sequel CYBORG 3: THE RECYCLER the year after this.

More Bigfoot!

THE LEGEND OF BIGFOOT-1975-Tracker Ivan Marx, "the last of a dying breed", goes to Alaska to prove Kodiak bears are not killing cattle. He scoffs when a farmer tells him it's Bigfoot. Then his brother in law shows him 700 yr old cave drawings of "stick man" who the local Indians say kidnapped children. Then he finds giant footsteps in the snow. Later on he films the hairy monster! If you're a fan of nature you might enjoy the nature scenes that contain no Bigfoot footage. Marx was the cinematographer as well as one of the executive producers.

 It's all bs and Marx's bombastic narration doesn't help. Some say he was the first person to find Bigfoot prints. They've also said it's his wife dressed as Bigfoot. He starred in IN THE SHADOW OF BIGFOOT in 1977, another pseudo-documentary. Director Harry Winer did mostly TV after this but in 1986 directed SPACE CAMP. Music by Don Peake, one of the guitarists for the Wrecking Crew.

Not For Cat Lovers

NIGHT OF 1000 CATS-1972-Some nut named Hugo (Hugo Stiglitz) wines and dines women, has sex with them, then strangles them. He keeps their heads on display in his lab and feeds the rest of the body parts to a multitude of cats he has on his property. His demented bald headed servant Dorgo (Geralso Zepeda) helps him. Occasionally he reminisces about killing them. A married woman (Anjanette Comer) foils his plan. 

Pretty crappy production with all the dubbed voices seeming to have been done by two people. Directed and co-written by the prolific Rene Cardona Jr. (TINTORERA (1977), THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE (1978)). Star maniac Stiglitz (SURVIVE! (1976) was in several films by Cardona Jr., who's dad made SANTA CLAUS (1969), NIGHT OF THE BLOODY APE (1969) and many Santo lucha libre movies!

REVENGE OF THE PSYCHOTRONIC MAN-1979-A barber named Rocky (Peter Spelson; also one of the writers) had a close encounter with a UFO. Now he can destroy people with his mind. First he kills an old guy, then his doctor. A cop (Chris Carbis) with an English accent investigates. Despite a wife and kids, he has a girlfriend. After he scares his wife, he leads the police on a too long car chase. After he crashes his car, he leads them on a too long foot chase. They seem to trap him in a building and a police sniper shoots him but he gets away. The End. 

Time wasting nonsense with bad acting and drawn scenes. Why revenge? He was a philandering alcoholic jerk. Director Jack M. Sell made two comedies after this and wisely went into another field.

THE NIGHTMARE OF GIRL'S DORM-2009-A college student Ran stays behind in her dorm after everyone leaves at the end of the semester. Only one other student stays (plus the house mother and a guard). The mysterious Wu Xia gives Ran a bracelet. It's said that during the off time the dorm is haunted by a girl who hanged herself. Ran is also pregnant by one of her teachers. She starts to see and hear strange things. Later her roommate Tong returns and tries to help. Wu performs a ritual to contact the ghost. Later it seems the ghost is terrorizing Ran but there are a couple of twists in this strange but not original ghost/horror from China, directed by Fu Yicong.

SUSPENSE:"Dr. Violet"-1949-An engaged couple go to a carny wax museum about murderers. The host Dr. Violet (Hume Cronyn) is an expert on murder. One exhibit isn't finished as the murderer hasn't been caught yet. The police suspect a nutty customer Mousey (Ray Walston). Violet leaves the girl (Anne Francis; 7 years before FORBIDDEN PLANET) alone in the museum and we learn a little more of his background. The ending is kind abrupt and awkward. Also with Frankie Thomas and Mike Kellin. 

Screenwriter Halstead Welles later wrote 3:10 TO YUMA and THE HANGING TREE. Director Robert Stevens later directed 44 episodes of “Alfred Hitchcock Presents” and the very unusual personality change drama CHANGE OF MIND (1969).

DARK HERITAGE-1989-Investigative reporter Clint Harrison (Mike LaCour) and co-workers Roger (Joe Jennings) and Daryl (Todd Leger) investigate a. haunted house. 2 of them disappear overnight and Clint goes to the police who nearly accuse him of murder. He watches a VHS tape they made but that doesn't help much. Later he meets Jack (Tim Verkaik) and Greg (David Hatcher) and they do some investigating. For some ridiculous reason, instead of driving away when a storm is brewing, they elect to stay in an abandoned camper. When the storm ends Greg winds up dead with a mutilated face. Clint convinces Jack to help him bury the body so he doesn't get into any more trouble. Later they go back to the house and encounter some members of the cursed Dansen family. 

Based on HP Lovecraft's "The Lurking Fear", it has bad acting and moves at a snail's pace. This is the only feature movie directed by David McCormick who was an editor on many films. In 2011, McCormick was involved in a sequel DARKNESS ON DANSEN HILL but that was a short film.
