Minor Minotaur

 (imdb)

MINOTAUR-2006-This mythological drama begins with a prologue about a queen who mated with the god Minotaur and had the baby cut out of her stomach. A guy named Theo (Tom Hardy; VENOM (2018)) lives in a village ruled by his father (Rutger Hauer) where human sacrifices are made. Theo still mourns for his lost, sacrificed love. An oracle with leprosy (Ingrid Pitt) tells him his beloved Fion is not dead but held prisoner in a labyrinth and he must kill “the beast” to free her. An evil prince (Tony Todd) wants to sacrifice Theo and his friends but the princess Raphaella (Michelle Van Der Water) has other ideas.

The Minotaur is a pretty bad effect. Not a man-bull but a snarling 4-legged kind. Todd gets props for his performance, but his scenes almost seem like part of another story. Film in Wales and Luxembourg by Jonathan English (IRONCLAD (2011)).

Bram Stoker?

 (imdb)

BRAM STOKER'S SHADOWBUILDER-1998-A weird priest with a gun (Michael Rooker) battles a shadow demon who wants a kid in a small town. Bugs sting a deputy to death, an old man axes his wife, dogs turn on their master, fun stuff like that. The town lunatic (Tony Todd) helps out. The script and acting are pretty bad.

The script is based on the story “The Shadow Builder” by Bram Stoker from a short story collection “Under The Sunset”, published in 1881 and of course it's nothing like this movie. Director Jamie Dixon did visual effects for other movies.

Filmed In Ohio

CANDY CORN-2019-A poor geek named Jacob (Nate Chaney) who works at Dr. Death's carnival is killed by 4 asshole punks. His little person boss Dr. Death (Pancho Moler) brings him back to life with some occult mask. He kills his attackers in various ways (he pulls one guy's spine out) and sheriff Sam Bramford (Courtney Gains) investigates. The killer pulls the tongue out of a girl who wasn't even one of the killers in an empty movie theater showing THE PHANTOM CREEPS. The instigator of the whole bullying thing is Mike, the sheriff's son who gets pretty fucked up by Jacob.

PJ Soles appears as Sam's dispatcher and Tony Todd (an executive producer) has a small role. Bad script and acting doom this gory revenge tale directed by Josh Hasty.
