LET ME DIE A WOMAN-1978-Dr. Leo Wollman (playing himself) narrates and explains exactly what happens during a sex change operation. It's rather detailed and real transsexuals talk about their lives but Doris Wishman wrote and directed it so at times it's exploitative and goofy. Harry Reems (DEEP THROAT) is a cab driver. Vanessa Del Rio is unbilled as Sandy. The doc gives some serious lectures then the story veers into near pornographic faked scenes.

FLESHPOT ON 42nd STREET-1973-Ha! This terrible Andy Milligan movie is about a dumb whore and her various tricks. It almost seems like like a sleazy documentary. The cast is made up almost exclusively of hardcore porno actors including Laura Cannon, Harry Reems and Fred Lincoln. Neil Flanagan, Guru in Milligan's GURU THE MAD MONK, is a weird homo in a bad wig. It's really terribly made but the performances aren't bad and there's great scenes of the old 42nd street. If you like crappy '70's porno with grotesque '70's sex scenes then this is for you. Hooker Dusty (Laura Cannon) shacks up with transvestite Cherry (Flanagan) but changes her plans when she meets Bob (Harry Reems) but things don't work out as she plans and she returns to doing tricks.

Real Porno Stuff

INSIDE DEEP THROAT-2005-Dennis Hopper narrates this documentary about the making of one of the most well known, infamous and successful porno movies of all time. It has interviews with director Gerald Damiano (who died in 2008), male star Harry Reems (who died in 2013), production manager Ron Wertheim and other luminaries such as Norman Mailer, Gore Vidal, Larry Flynt, Dr. Ruth, Dick Cavett, Hugh Hefner, Erica Jong and John Walters. It makes a good point in showing that when the (Nixon) government singled it out for censorship the movie became "porn-chic" and did even bigger business. Prosecuting attorney Larry Parrish seems as nuts today as he was when he tried Reems  for conspiracy. Also they talk about mob involvement using theaters running the movie for money laundering. One guy is even yelled at my his wife during his interview. 

Much found footage with Lovelace is shown (as well as other people) and it's very good after the "celebs" stop talking. They have interesting opinions I guess but sometimes it seems all the old people are just trying to justify the fact that they like porno.  It also covers the decline of "porno film making" and Lovelace's later life.
