(imdb)TARANTULAS: DEADLY CARGO-1977-In Ecuador, two pilots (Howard Hesseman, Tom Atkins) with a plane load of coffee and illegal aliens accidentally get a load of deadly tarantulas that infect the illegals. After another pilot is bitten, the plane crashes in a field, explodes and the tarantulas escape. A volunteer fireman Brent Springer (Claude Akins) and another pilot Joe (Charles Frank) try to save the illegals while the mayor (Bert Remsen) and the sheriff (Sandy McPeak) think it's the plague. Doc Hodgins (Pat Hingle) examines the victims. An LA spider expert (John Harkins) says they are deadly and aggressive. To save the orange crop, the townsfolk use the hum of a wasp to trick the tarantulas.
Stupid, boring TV movie directed by Stuart Hagmann (THE STRAWBERRY STATEMENT (1970)). Also with Deborah Winters, Bill Irwin and Matthew Laborteaux.
