(wikiwand)TEENAGE DEVIL DOLLS-1955-A detective (Robert A. Sherry) relates the story of Cassandra (Barbara Marks), who works for her "much married mother" but escapes her repression by joining a motorcycle gang led by Packard (William Kendell). They introduce her to marijuana. She plays around with them and her grades plummet, losing her chance to attend college. Fortunately for her, a fool named Johnny Adams (Robert Norman) is sweet on her and they get married.
Bad move! Cassandra becomes a bored, frustrated housewife prone to mood swings and depression. Her meds don't help. Neither does the dog hubby brings home one day. She leaves and once again hooks up with Packard and his gang. Cassandra freaks out on Seconal and is arrested after crashing her car. After a stay with the police, she returns to her parents and hubby but runs away. Later she cooks something up with a drug addict/dealer Martinez (the director) and almost dies from withdrawal in the desert.
There's no dialogue in this basement budget exploitation film produced, written, edited and directed by one Bramlett L. Price, Jr. in his only movie making outing. There's only a lone narrator (Greg Martell) who is also supposed to be the detective.
Director Price (who's own father plays Cassandra's stepfather) supposedly borrowed the money to make this from his then wife actress Anne Francis. AKA: ONE WAY TICKET TO HELL. Francis Coleman must have watched this before making his movies.

(imdb)JOHNNY VIK aka THE HUNTED-1977-Johnny Vik (Warren Hammack) is an unbalanced Native American shell-shocked Vietnam vet who acts very weird, won't take his meds, has mood swings and can't find a job. He kind of freaks out while washing windows at a mental hospital. He gets 30 days for peeing in public but later jumps bail and lives in the forest. The sheriff (John Favre) and a posse think Johnny in an old shack. He fires a tear gas bomb but the shack was only being occupied by a mother and her children. After Johnny wanders around a lot he meets a strange woman Kola (Mary Jane McNaughton) who occasionally narrates. In the end nothing really happens and Johnny is hunted down and killed by the sheriff and his gang (for urinating in public?!).
Badly made regional drama by writer/director Charles Nauman.

(imdb)AT THE MOVIES WITH MISTRESS MISTY-2004-After an intro by Mistress Misty (Debra Rochon) who drinks a glass of blood and has a mutant baby, there are three stories all involving werewolves.
The first is "Dark Rose: The 700 Year Itch". A vampire hunter finds a vampire and turns into a werewolf. The two fight and the werewolf wins.
In “Sheep's Clothing”, a PI shadows a wife Gina to see if she's cheating. She doesn't seem to be doing anything wrong except shopping and talking to her minister. When the husband pretends to be away, it seems Gina is actually a werewolf, and the minister was trying to help cure her.
In “Crying Wolf”, a bickering couple are attacked by a werewolf. The woman dies but the man is saved by some passersby. A month later a hick sheriff accuses the man of killing the woman. The guy believes he's a werewolf and wants the sheriff to lock him up. It turns out the sheriff is the original werewolf and the two battle it out for supremacy as the worst wolf man in celluloid history.
Amateurish nonsense but Rochon seems to be having a good time. Also known as THE LUNAR PACK. It was written and directed by James Liquori.

(imdb)THE CREMATORS-1972-A narrator tells us about a meteor that hit Earth many many years ago and a young Indian and a shark. In the present, bug expert Ian Thorne (Marvin Howard) finds a strange stone. When he sends it away to be analyzed it seems to be responsible for the mailman's death when he's burned alive by a ball of fire. Later Thorne gives a second stone to the weird looking Jeannie (Maria de Aragon). Then a pipe smoking local is burned by another fireball. After a lot of talk, a scientist tries to stop the fireball with a shotgun.
The sfx, acting and direction are sub-par in this low budget sci-fi film directed and co-written by Harry Essex (OCTA-MAN (1971)) who in better times wrote the screenplay for THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON (1954). The Cremators also features the second to last film score by Albert Glasser and the debut of SFX creator Doug Beswick (THE TERMINATOR, BEETLEJUICE).
Lead actress de Aragon was later Greedo the alien (uncredited) in the first "Star Wars" movie.

(imdb)VAMPIRE TRAILER PARK-1991-A private investigator and a psychic look into stories about missing old people and vampires. Sometimes the psychic's dead grandma talks through her. A pasty-faced vampire (the screenwriter/co-producer Patrick Moran) shrieks annoyingly and vomits blood.
Terrible shot on video junk with bad acting, direction and sfx. Director Steve Latshaw later made JACK-O (1995) and THE RETURN OF THE KILLER SHREWS (2012).

(imdb)REVENGE OF THE PSYCHOTRONIC MAN-1979-A barber named Rocky (Peter Spelson; also one of the writers) had a close encounter with a UFO. Now he can destroy people with his mind. First he kills an old guy, then his doctor. A cop (Chris Carbis) with an English accent investigates. Despite a wife and kids, he has a girlfriend. After he scares his wife, he leads the police on a too long car chase. After he crashes his car, he leads them on a too long foot chase. They seem to trap him in a building and a police sniper shoots him but he gets away. The End.
Time wasting nonsense with bad acting and drawn scenes. Why revenge? He was a philandering alcoholic jerk. Director Jack M. Sell made two comedies after this and wisely went into another field.

(imdb)NIGHT OF BLOODY HORROR-1969-Wesley Stewart (Gerald McRaney) seems to have a few problems like his nagging mom and having spent 13 years in a mental hospital for accidentally killing his brother. When he goes out to a bar and gets drunk, 3 jerks beat him up and take his money. He's helped by a nurse. They begin a relationship that's shown in still pictures. Unfortunately, Wes it seems has psychotic episodes that make him kill. When he leaves the nurse on the beach alone (at night), he comes back and kills her with an axe. Or does he?
This shot in New Orleans, no budget horror bore has scenes that are way too dark. Director/co-writer Joy N. Houck Jr. (THE BRAIN MACHINE (1972)) followed this up the next year with WOMEN AND BLOODY TERROR, also featuring the co-star of TV's “Simon & Simon”.

(imdb)STEPS FROM HELL-1990-Some vampire demon Vlad (Bernardo Rosa) is searching for a gateway. The tale seems to be told in flashback by a writer to his would-be research assistant. They both act like they'd rather be someplace else. After his father is killed, a priest (Ron O'Dell) goes looking for Vlad, whose chief henchman is a huge black transvestite. He has a funny fight with a black couple in the woods. Later he and a ghoul girl attack some guys in a van and eat one of them. One guy who escapes beats up the huge guy with terrible martial arts moves but is killed anyway. Then later suddenly the big guy is chasing a woman. She beats him with a stick and stabs him but the undead woman grabs her. Later the priest fights Vlad in a good vs. evil finale in slow motion. Beelzebub shows up at the end too.
The date on the film is 1990 but it looks like some washed out regional release made in the early '70's with bright lighting that suddenly goes dark, outrageously bad acting (most of the actors seem in a coma), too much talk and all the voices seem to be slowed down somewhat. Writer/director James Adam Tucker was also an actor (He played a cop on John Waters' HAIRSPRAY).

(imdb)TERROR EYES-1989-A dapper mysterious man (Daniel Roebuck) gives a white trash couple a book titled “The Book of Life”. It seems to foretell their deaths. When the husband tries to destroy the book with acid, he starts to burn up. This turns out to be a dream by a writer (associate producer/co-writer Vivian Schilling). Her husband (also Roebuck) explains that she is an advertising writer who's been hired for some inexplicable reason to write a horror movie. Then she's chased through some winding corridors by an unseen monster. Then the couple go on a camping trip with 2 other couples. A demon seems to kill the husband and pretends to be him, acting like a loony.
Finally, camper Manny relates his tale (The Alibi). It's the stupid story of a loser being set up by a guy who wants to kill his wife. It really sucks. In another tale (Snake Eyes), a female chess champion is kidnapped by an adult video gamer and put into a game where she confronts the owner.
Uniformly bad horror anthology with terrible acting,direction,sfx and failed attempts at humor. Three directors are credited. One Michael Rissi directed SOULTAKER the next year (also with Schilling) and another Stephen Sommers went on to make the big scale productions THE MUMMY (1999) and its sequels! As of this writing his name was attached to a remake of “When Worlds Collide”.

(imdb)SOLOMON KING-1974-Ex-CIA agent Soloman King (co-director/co-writer Sal Watts) and his brother Manny (real life brother (?) James Watts) run oil wells in the Middle East but the evil Hassan (Richard Scarso) takes over the country. The king goes into hiding and his daughter the princess escapes to the US. King takes the princess in to protect her. With the help of a corrupt agent, Hassan sends an assassin to kill the princess. Honkies try to hire black brothers to work for Hassan. Later after the princess is killed, King recruits his ex-Green Beret buddies to bring down Hassan.
Terrible acting and direction. The fight scenes are some of the worst ever! No negative of this could be found. Some wiseguy restored it from 35mm copy. The print looks great, which is the best part of this movie. Star Sal Watts was a successful clothing store owner in California and appeared in only one other film, BIG TIME in 1977. He died in 2003.

(imdb)THE ABOMINATION-1986-This low budget horror movie starts off with all the bloody Andy Mulligan like gore, blood and dismemberment scenes shown all at once as a guy's nightmares. Then the guy Cody (Scott Davis) talks to a psychiatrist about how he had to kill a woman in a graveyard because "the abomination" is controlling him. He blames his mother because she watched Brother Fogg (Rex Morton), a TV evangelist. At night when Cody goes on a date, mom coughs up a tumor of some kind that's alive and later it crawls into Cody's mouth while he's asleep. He must be a sound sleeper!
Next day Cody and his girlfriend go out drinking beer and drag racing in his pickup. Now a slimy creature lives under Cody's bed and makes him kill so the creature can have blood. Mom decides Cody needs an exorcism and goes to Brother Fogg (obviously a complete phony) and he agrees to do one. Later, in a very long scene, the creature takes over the kitchen, appearing in the cupboard, under the sink and in a washing machine and kills mom. After Fogg is eaten taking a dump, Cody dismembers another guy in a junkyard. He chases a woman in a graveyard and slits her throat. The gory (but still terrible) sfx get more disgusting as it goes on. In his kitchen he feeds body parts and entrails to Audrey....I mean to the abomination. His girlfriend comes by and kills him but the monster eats her. Mom's doc visits and becomes the new host while Cody (somehow still alive?) pleads his innocence over the closing credits.
This is a low budget badly made little gore film that's fairly entertaining if you like senseless badly acted and directed puke films. Writer/director Bret McCormick directed one of the stories in TABLOID (1989) and made other mindless stuff.

(imdb)LAST HOUSE ON DEAD END STREET-1973-Convicted drug dealer Terry Hawkins (writer/director Roger Watkins under a pseudonym) is released from jail and is tired of people telling him what to do. He talks like an asshole to different people about making a movie and at a party a hunchback whips a woman. The rest of this garbage is Terry ranting (“I'm making this fucking movie”), whispering, smoking and killing people for his ridiculous snuff films. Later on he and his screwed-up gang graphically torture and cut up a woman. Then they kill another guy and the morons seem to get away with their crimes but a voice-over says they were later apprehended and put in jail. The director should have been put in a padded cell.
This monstrosity supposedly crawled out of a much longer "opus" called “The Cuckoo Clocks from Hell” which they say was so repugnant and annoying that patrons rioted and burned down a theater! I've seen that version on a list of lost horror films and I'm sure it belongs there. Everyone in this thing hid behind phony names and according to some sources, no one admitted being associated with it until 2000! Director Watkins went on to make a bunch of porno movies...

(imdb)NIGHT TRAIN TO TERROR-1985-On a train, a terrible rock band play. Also on the train are God (un-billed Ferdy Mayne) and Satan (un-billed Tony Giorgio) who discuss various things in this low budget trilogy.
In the first story, “The Case of Harry Bilings”, an accident victim named Harry (John Phillip Law) is turned into a weirdo who drugs women and brings them to an institution where a big doofus intern Otto (Richard Moll) rapes and dismembers them and sells their body parts. Later a female doctor lobotomizes a male doctor. Harry decapitates Otto and discovers the male doctor operating on the female doctor. I thought this might have been a misfire black comedy despite the subject matter.
Number 2: “The Case of Gretta Connors”. A musician named Greta (Merideth Hayes) is turned into a porno actress by a jerk named George (J. Martin Sellers). Glen, a preppie type sees one of Gretta's movies and falls in love with her. Somehow, he meets her and they become lovers. It turns out George is the head of “The Death Club” whose members have all had brushes with death. Something called a “Transinian Winged Beetle” (terrible animation) stings a guy to death and his eyeballs explode. They also play an electrocution game where an African American guy is burned to death. Later they play a game of death with a construction ball that looks like something from the '60's “Batman” TV show.
The third story is called “The Case of Claire Hansen”, Mr. Weiss (Marc Lawrence) enlists a police Lt. (Cameron Mitchell) and his assistant Dieter (also Marc Lawrence) to help him trap a Nazi. Then Weiss is killed by a fanged monster. Coroner Claire Hansen (Faith Cliff) examines the body. Her husband Peter is the author of the book “Is God Dead?”. A guy named Papini warns Peter the devil is coming for him. The Nazi is now the still young Mr. Oliver (Robert Bristol), a murderer sporting goat legs. The boyfriend of one of Oliver's victims tries to kill him but is crushed by a red eyed monster (terrible animation). Strange rubbery demons attack Claire but it seems to be an illusion. A priest tells her she was picked by God to battle the devil. He gives her a box and tells her to cut out Oliver's heart and put it in the box. A badly animated monster kills Papini. The Lt and Dieter are blown up. Then Oliver turns into a demon (bad puppet) and kills Peter. Somehow Claire runs Oliver down with her car and takes him to a hospital to remove his heart. Everything goes awry in the bloody operating room finale but Satan wins.
The band plays some more but fortunately are killed when the train crashes. (but sadly, they seem to come back to life) This out of whack z budget trilogy was actually made from three full length or almost finished films and the third story actually was released in full length form as CATACLYSM. Four directors are credited but the screenwriting for all the stories go to one person, Phillip Yordan, who once won an Oscar for the screenplay of BROKEN LANCE (1954)!

(tmdb)ATOMIC EDEN-2015-An annoying mercenary Stoker (Fred Williamson) assembles a group from his past to go to Chernobyl to find "the ultimate weapon" left behind by The Nazis. Meanwhile a mysterious army of people in radiation suits are outside attacking. Almost everyone gets killed. It's very violent and the dialogue is pretty bad. To top it all off Lorenzo Lamas shows up near the end as a villainous scenery chewer.
Many questions are left unanswered and the end sets up a sequel though one was never made. German action star (and the film's co-producer) Mike Moller has several fights and there's a female samurai (Hazuki Kato). Di-rector Nico Sentner plays a sniper.

(imdb)POWER FORCE-1991-In Bangkok, Benny is fighting with help from the CIA while rebels stage an uprising with lots of machine guns and hand grenades. I admit I didn't really understand what was going on most of the time but this movie was directed by Godfrey Ho (using the pseudonym Charles Lee) so it seems like this was a movie made by someone else with Ho adding unrelated scenes of his own.

(imdb)BnB HELL-2017-A woman (Kimberley Woods) stays at a dilapidated bed and breakfast while looking for her sister who appears to have disappeared there. It has a weird owner. There's a strange old guy with an accent who hangs around and a grad student is also staying there. It seems like she's being watched. She views a video that shows a murder but she falls asleep before seeing it. It all has to do with the owner's demented animal like son. It was directed without much effort by Andrew Jordan.

(bleeding skull)THE ASTOUNDING SHE MONSTER-1957-Wealthy socialite Margaret Chaffee (Marilyn Harvey) is kidnapped and taken to a hideout in the San Gabriel mountains. A "visitor beyond imagination" lands on Earth around the same time the two kidnappers (one is Keene Duncan) along with their "moll" (Jeanne Tatum), a drunken floozy and Chaffee, hold up in the isolated cabin of a geologist (Robert Clarke). The rather voluptuous radioactive alien (Shirley Kilpatrick) walks around the forest, kills a dog and later a bear. She kills one kidnapper then terrorizes the rest who flee into the woods. They try to set her on fire but that fails. They run back to the cabin. They do this several times.
This black and white cheapie was made by Ronnie Ashcroft who had been assistant director on Ed Wood's NIGHT OF THE GHOULS (which starred Duncan). It's said Wood was the movie's “adviser” and his influence is all over it. Loud out of place music, more talk than action, characters spouting quasi-philosophical dialogue. Soon after this Ashcroft produced the short “Trick Shooting with Keene Duncan”.
“She Monster” Shirley Kilpatrick had a successful career as a model but her only movie after this was an un-uncredited role in THE GENE KRUPA STORY in 1959. After several troubled marriages, she became a psychic! Unfortunately, at age 38 she died of a drug overdose in 1971.

(imdb)BACK FROM HELL-1993-Father Aaron Pike visits his old friend Jack to hear his confession. Jack is hold up in some attic. Two detectives who followed Pike enter the building one by one and are killed by Jack. Then Jack says they are going to talk to the devil. He says some pray and one of the dead detectives comes back to life and starts ranting in a weird voice. A hand comes out of a Bible and tries to kill the priest. Later the duo fights some hooded characters. It seems Jack sold his soul to the devil.
While not unentertaining, BFH is very incompetent with terrible acting, bad lighting, direction and gratuitous scenes of gore and blood spurting. It's unintentionally funny most of the time but its real drawback is some of the scenes go on too long. This was the first movie for director Matt Jaissle (he's made a few more since) who also plays “maniac with an ax”.
