SPACE MUTINY-1988-On a spaceship going somewhere, the evil, insane Commander Calgon (John Phillip Law) plans to take over. He's assisted by the sadistic McPearson (James Ryan; KILL AND KILL AGAIN (1981)). Some alien women called Bellerians who speak telepathically are also aboard. Commander Jansen (Cameron Mitchell, with Santa beard) is in charge and his daughter, Lea (Cissy Cameron) blames pilot Dave Ryder (Reb Brown; HOWLING 2 (1985)) for the death of a professor. Of course, they fall in love. 

This very cheap looking filmed in a warehouse space opera was started by director David Winters who left for personal reasons. It taken over by Neal Sundstrum with scenes of the Bellerians added by David A. Prior after filming was finished. None of them were happy with the final product. Filmed in South Africa. Brown and Cameron are married in real life.

PREY-2007-Peter Weller (he made good movies once, right?) is an engineer who takes his dysfunctional family (teenage daughter doesn't get along with step-mom) with him when he goes to Africa to build a dam. Mom (Bridget Moynahan), daughter (Carly Schroeder and young son (Connor Dowds) go for a tour in a game preserve and wind up trapped in an SUV being stalked by lions. Some poachers help them get water. Meanwhile dad and a white hunter look for them. This South African produced CUJO inspired tale features a lot of arguing, screaming and unrealistic twists. It was directed by Darrell Roodt.

Price In South Africa

THE JACKALS-(South Africa)-(1967)-This is a weird seldom seen spagetti western influenced drama that takes place in The Transvaal.

Some outlaws rob a bank then almost die of thirst in the desert ( while arguing constantly). The leader is a cardboard no nonsense type (Robert Gunner). They take refuge in a ghost town where they meet an old prospector (Vincent Price ) and his weird looking granddaughter (Diana Everson) who's tougher than any of the outlaws. Everyone sleeps out in the open even though (stock footage) wild animals are everywhere. The thieves have a falling out and the cardboard guy teams up with grandpa and gandaughter to beat his ex-partners and turn over a new leaf. He even returns the money he stole from the bank! Price is a hoot in the lead, mugging and laughing like a maniac and is really the only reason to catch this.
